One Year Older and Wiser Too...well at least I like to think I am

I can't believe that I am 28 and have hit the dreaded year where I had no idea how old I was. Somebody asked me my age the other day and I totally blanked, which is something I have made fun of other people for...I mean come on, how can you forget how old you are?! Well now I know and I actually had to think how old Brett was going to be and then subtract 2 years...I swear you become a mom and you just seem to lose your mind:). Other than that this has been the most fun week-long birthday celebration I have ever had. It actually all began a couple months ago when my mom gave me my early birthday present, which was a gift certificate to get laser hair removal. My sister, Sarah, got one too and so we have been thoroughly enjoying saying goodbye to all that unwanted and annoying hair (I would definitely recommend).

Then as my present from my hubby and kids I got permament eyeliner done by my friend, Melissa, a week before my big day. Melissa totally hooked me up and did such a fantastic job. I guess this year was the year for some self improvement and well I guess I needed it seeing that the other day some lady asked if I was my sister's mom...so sad and yes I wanted to cry.

Anyways, as for my actual birthday my two wonderfully fabulous friends Rachel and Meegan took me to get a pedicure that morning and it was so much fun. Thanks to my mother-in-law I was able to enjoy a nice time without the kids. Aterwards I went and grabbed the kids and we headed to Joe's BBQ for my free birthday lunch. Not only did I eat free at Joe's BBQ, but I ate free at Liberty Market, Joe's Farm Grill and got my free dozen Krispy Kremes...talk about the hook-ups. It was a fun day of friends, family and presents...my favorite!

Then on Friday night, Rachel and I had a fun birthdy GNO. We did some shopping at Scottsdale Mall and Last Chance and then ate dinner at my most favorite restaurant in Phoenix "My Florist"...most perfect night ever!

As I mentioned earlier, birthdays are definitely a time for some great freebies. I got a $30 off certificate to Benihana's (which I love), so we invited some friends out for a fun and extremely entertaining night on Saturday night. Here's a pic of our fun little group. We had, yet another, great night. I also can't forget that I got a free 'Like It' size icecream at ColdStone...yummy!!

I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family who make life more enjoyable and me a happier and better person. I loved all the fun birthday wishes I received because it's those small things that make it the best day ever.

It was a fun night. Thanks for the invite, Mom!! J/K. Anyways, our real mom said she had so much fun with you, the kiddos and McKai yesterday. I'm jealous, but I did get a good day's sleep because of it. Call me, we need to chat.

I guess my text at 11:00 o'clock on the dot and my morning phone call weren't enough to receive blogger praise. I see how it goes.
