Durango, Colorado

Last Sunday Bradock, my mom and myself headed to Durango, Colorado. I was scheduled there for a conference all week and I didn't want to be away from Bradock that long, so my mom decided to come and watch Bradock during the day while I worked. After packing the entire house, we headed to the airport where we had to pay extra for several of our bags. FYI-you will be charged for checking more than 1 bag of luggage.

We made it through security and to our gate in one piece and then loaded the plane. As we were waiting for take-off the pilot gets on the speaker and says that 4 people got past security somehow and the entire terminal and planes were on "lock down". We waited on our hot plane for over an hour until the pilot got the green light to takeoff. We were so glad and I am so thankful that Bradock is such a good boy. He just sat on my lap playing with all the magazines and safety brochures in the seat pocket and looking out the window at the crew members working below us. As soon as we got in the air he conked out and slept the whole flight.

Durango was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Doubletree Resort overlooking the Animas River. Our room had a balcony that you could go out and sit and enjoy the rolling rapids of the river. Bradock and my mom had fun walking and sightseeing everyday and I loved being able to finish work each evening to spend time with them. Maybe someday I will go back and actually vacation there.

The last day of the conference, my mom and Bradock joined my co-workers and I for lunch. I put Bradock down beside me to play and all of a sudden he just started walking around. He has been taking a few steps here and there, but it was like the light bulb came on and he realized what all the fuss was about. Everyone started clapping and cheering for him and he got even more excited about walking. He started clapping and laughing. It was one of those moments I wish I had recorded.

We got home Thursday night and that evening Bradock and Brett were playing in the backyard and as I poked my head out I saw the two of them just chillin on our curbing, playing with Maggie. It was too cute to not take a picture. Bradock (and I) were so glad to see Brett after our long trip. Thanks Mom for making it so much more enjoyable.

Yeah!!! That's so exciting that he started walking! Now you guys are officially in for it! ;) No, it's actually really fun! I'm so glad that the boys are done with class, but too bad they have to study for the boards! :(

How fun that he came with you! I've been to Durango and it's absolutely beautiful, especially this time of year. What a good boy to already be walking! Lucas didn't walk until 17 months and he wasn't a light load to carry around for that long!

Oh...have fun at Girl's camp! We are going to one of the girl's family cabin...I think that's sort of a "no-no" but I'm not sure! It's "supposed" to be cooler up there (I don't even really know where up there is...?) I'm excited though! Do you have to do any talks/devotionals? Let me know your ideas!

So I'm so glad that you mentioned there is a one bag limit since Ellah and I are leaving on Friday, I would have had no idea... I'll have to call and ask you how much an extra bag costs. Anyways let's try and get together after TX. Have fun at girls camp.
