Home Improvements

I have said it before, but I have the most talented and kind in-laws. I wish I had an ounce of their creativity and talent. For the past couple of weeks Bob and Terri have been working on some of our home improvements. We decided it was time for Bradock to move to a big boy bed and give the crib to Raylee. Terri took the material that we were going to make for his crib bedding and made a twin comforter, skirt and curtains. When Brett and I went to move Bradock's crib from his room, he grabbed on to it and started crying. I was thinking, "Uh oh, maybe he's not ready!" But he has done so good and loves his new bed. I absolutely love the way his room turned out. Thanks Bob and Terri for working your magic once again. I don't know what I would do without you.

Bob has a wood shop in his garage and loves to create new things, so we have had him hard at work. He has been working on a book/toy shelf for Bradock's room and finally finished it while I was in Bolivia...it looks awesome. I love that we have some organization in there now.

We gotta work on how to sleep in the bed right, but hey it hasn't disturbed his slumber.

Bob and Brett also made a cute little step stool for Bradock to get up and down into his bed. Bradock is definately a cautious little guy and I think has a fear of heights, even if it's only a few feet off the ground. As a mom, though, I am totally okay with that.

I hate disorganized things, so Bob built some shoe shelves for mine and Brett's closet. Bob is quite the wood worker and busted these shelves out in a day.

The next project, which I was really hesitant about doing, was our family room coffee table. The table was made with four droors on each side, but the droors were small and not very practical. So, Brett got this great idea to saw off the top of the table, gut the inside and turn it into a coffee table/toy chest. Bob and Brett ended up glueing the droor sides on the table for looks, but now the chest opens up and is used as my toy hideaway. I love it and am so glad it made it out of the wood shop in one piece.

Bradock loves his new toy chest too.

They are super talented. Did you make that headboard too? By the way, I "invited" you to our blog when I got your email, but I don't think you've logged in yet. I'll re-send the invite.

What handy men you have there. The toy chest is a perfect idea, and super cute, as is Braddock's room. I am not creative at all but luckily my in law's are as well.
