Yesterday turned out to be one of those super exciting days for our family. The kids were down for a nap, so I decided to work out while they were asleep. When I was done I checked my phone only to realize I had several missed calls and texts. Brett had been trying to get a hold of me to tell me that he got an email from our lawyer's office stating that Raylee's final adoption hearing is scheduled for February 24th in Holbrook, AZ. When I read the text, I thought it was a joke...which is not something to be joking around with me about. I tried to call Brett back, but he was in class and wouldn't answer. I was so overwhelmed with emotions...I couldn't stop crying. It was then that Brett text me again to have me check my email. Sure enough, he wasn't joking. In less than a month Raylee will be legally and eternally ours. A couple weeks ago, we had talked to our lawyers as we filled out and signed the paperwork for the petition to adopt. They told us that we could probably expect the final hearing to be about 6 months out. I was devastated to hear that we had to continue to be patient and that Raylee would be a year old before everything was likely to be done. We have been having problems with insurance coverage for Raylee too, since we don't have a SS# or birth certificate for her. She hasn't been to the dr, since she was 2 months old and luckily, has been very healthy. I know that Heavenly Father has blessed us so much and has answered our prayers. I can't fully express my gratitude to my Heavenly Father for knowing how much we love this little girl and our deep desire to go to the temple and be sealed as a family forever. I know he knows each and everyone of us and knows the trials, struggles and challenges that we face everyday. He hears our prayers and answers them according to His will. The kids finally woke up from their nap and Bradock kept giving me hugs because he didn't know why mommy was crying. With my two little kids we knelt down and thanked our Heavenly Father for being so loving and kind, for answering our prayers and sending so many wonderful blessings. We will continue to pray that the court hearing will go as smoothly as everything has been so far and after Februrary 24th will have the opportunity to go to the temple as a family. 2009 is definately turning out to be an exciting year and we hope to have more good news to come.
