The kids have been so busy with school lately and I just love all the fun projects they have brought home. Miss Raylee has thoroughly enjoyed going around and reciting the pledge of allegiance that she learned at school. Since Payson is on the modified year-round school schedule Bradock and Raylee's fall break began last weekend, so no school for two whole weeks. I wasn't sure what we were going to do with our time, but we have still managed to stay super busy.
Sarah, Chance and McKai came up to visit over the weekend...of course the boys ended up doing a lot of elk/deer scouting and Sarah and I, with all the kids, did some garage selling and thrift store shopping. Seriously I have never laughed so hard in my life as I did with my sis while we were hunting for some good treasures.
Sarah was on the lookout for a bookshelf to turn into a shoe shelf. It just so happens that we show up at this ol' man's garage sale and he has 3 shelves for sale. Sarah decides to take the biggest one and together we manage to carry the heavy thing to my car. At about the same time my kids are yelling that they need to go potty...perfect timing...and I turn to see that Bradock is going in the neighbors rocks and Raylee is about to do the same...love little kids. Anyways, we all get back in the car and all of a sudden Sarah and I hear loud banging coming from the very back where the shelf is. We get to the next garage sale and I open up the back to her entire shelf falling apart and out of my car. Seriously laughing my head off as piece by piece the whole thing lands in the street. How we managed to carry it to the car without it falling apart I'm not sure, but I could barely pick up her now $3 pile of wood because I couldn't breathe from all the laughing...probably had to be there but it was classic.
Then the next garage sale, Sarah finds this kids book and asks how much. The guy says 50 cents and the lady says "Ah just a quarter". So, Sarah excitedly buys the book for McKai and we get back in the car to where she finds the sticker on the top of the book that says 10 cents...she just wasn't on her game that day...but I thoroughly thank her for all the laughter. However, I ended up scoring some awesome frames that I have now repainted and put in the kids rooms...pics to come.
Tanner and Heidi also came up the same weekend, so we all ended up watching conference together and I had a big lunch for everyone on Sunday. I figured we had a party going on anyway, so I also invited our friends, the Youngs, over. We had a nice little mexican food fiesta...I make pretty darn good green chili burros if I say so myself. Well, it made for a fun start to our break and I can't wait for all the fun stuff we have planned for next week.
