Christmas Fun

Our Christmas fun began Thursday night, Dec 20th, with a little missionary reunion with some of Brett's mission companions. Brett's Mission President and his wife were here visiting from Mexico City and so they decided to have a little get together with as many of the Puebla, Mexico missionaries. It was a lot of fun, but I didn't really understand most of the conversation because everyone was speaking Spanish (just one more reason why I really need to learn). Friday night we went over to the Larson's to celebrate Mele's b-day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Girl! We had lots of fun seeing everyone. We were contemplating whether or not to leave for Pinetop that night because they had been getting snow all day. Brett and Chance decided that we should just go on up, so we left around 9:30pm. On our way, we saw a semi-truck flipped over and several cars that had also slid off the road and were lying in the side ditches. We were all a little nervous, but we took it easy and made it to Pinetop safe and sound. We had a great weekend with my fam, which also included my grandma, aunt, uncle and cousin from Texas. We also enjoyed the white winter up there. Lets just say I am so glad I don't live there. It's fun to visit, but no thank you. I hate being cold and stuck inside all day. Sunday evening we had our Christmas feast and enjoyed visiting with our family friends, The Cabezas. They are from Bolivia, where Justing is serving his mission, and have become apart of our family. My dad delivered their little girl, Victoria, who is now Bradock's future wife :). The highlight of our trip was getting to talk to Justin. He is doing so well and loves his mission and the work he is doing. Justin does sound like a little hispanic now and he had forgotten several words in english, like potatoes and boil. It's funny to see how engulfed in a language he has become that he has forgotten some of his first language. Monday, Christmas Eve, we started the day off with our traditional "Christmas Eve Gift". I got Brett and my mom, but my dad was too quick for me. We opened gifts that evening (after our traditional Mexican meal) and Bradock had a blast with the wrapping paper and boxes. Of course, my mom went way overboard with gifts for him. I can't complain; this is her first grandchild, so I guess she is entitled (that just means less gifts we will have to buy). We drove home Christmas morning with a bed full of snow. Brett got the great idea of packing our truck with snow, so our nephews could enjoy a "white" christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas day at the Flaherty's and the nephews had a blast building a snowman with the snow. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Man all the kids are getting so big, it's insane. Your Christmas looked like so much fun. And yes I hate to break it to you but I got the brown boots in Germany from Jonathan for my birthday. I love them, they are so comfortable. But, the good news is we bought them at Zara's and the closest one to you is in LA. So, if your in the area of LA hit up Zara's, it's one of my favorite stores. Happy New Year!

How fun...sounds like you guys were busy. I can't believe you drove up to Pinetop so late...scary about all the car wrecks.

I love that your mom spoils Bradock...I can just see it! Brett is such a nice uncle to bring back snow!

I totally know who you "saw" shopping after Christmas....I can't say his name, because we NEVER kissed, barf!!!
