Happy Anniversary and other Happenings

Brett and I got to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary this weekend completely kidless. My parents came down this weekend and took Bradock and Raylee Friday night and Saturday, so we could enjoy a fun weekend, just Brett and I. We went out to dinner, saw a movie, did a little pre-Christmas shopping and then re-arranged some of our furniture upstairs to make a new "Playroom"!! It's amazing how much one can do and accomplish without two little toddlers running around.
Our loft area has been serving as our office since we moved into our house. With all the toys we have accumulated we needed a play area for the kids and I was tired of it being downstairs right in the middle of our flow of traffic. So, we removed our big arm chair and computer desk and took Bradock's book shelf that Bob had made awhile back and moved it from his room to our loft area.
Now Bradock's room just holds his train table and any fun Christmas suprises that might be coming:)
We then moved my eliptical machine to the garage where I have a mini-gym set up and moved our computer desk to our bedroom. I am so in love with the way we have things set up now. The kids stay upstairs with the toys and my family room now stays clean...well cleaner without the toys anyway.
Wednesday night was our Evening of Excellence for the Young Women. We held it in my backyard and had a fabulous "Hollywood Night". It was a lot of work getting the yard and decorations ready, but it turned out so cute and we had so much fun. The Bishop and Spanish Branch Pres. were our "MCs" for the evening and they did a really great job presenting the awards and telling jokes. I decided to re-mix the song "I Got a Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas to go along with our night and all the Young Women leaders ended up singing it as the Special Musical Number...so fun!!

Here is the whole group all dressed up for their big "Red Carpet" event.

The leaders came up with some really fun awards for the girls and as the girls were presented with their award they then told us all about their 10hr projects they had completed.
Here is Bishop Peterson presenting the awards.
My friend, neighbor and partner over the Beehives came up with this cute sundae bar for refreshments.
I think the girls had a really fun night, but I think I can say that I enjoyed it the most. I was so impressed with the girl's projects and how much they have grown spiritually. They are such a great example to me and I hope that they continue to strive to reach their fullest potential as beautiful daughters of God.

Happy Belated Anniversary! I agree that it is soo nice to get things done without kids around. You gals in YW are so creative! It always seems like your ward comes up with really fun ideas for your girls and I think that is so important for the girls to have fun and want to be involved.

We did an "Oscarette" night for our YW in Excellence too. We spray painted Barbies gold to give out. The YW loved dressing up all fancy. Happy Anivierasary!
