A Few Firsts

We have had a couple of firsts around our house these past couple of weeks. One that I am so excited about and cannot believe, but as of a few weeks ago I am officially a diaperless mom. That's right Raylee has been completely potty-trained for almost a month now and life could not be better...well in that department anyways. Do you know how much money I have been saving with my two kids out of diapers...it's fantastic!! Speaking of Raylee, she has had a few bad asthma attacks in the last couple of months, so her pediatrician recommended us to an allergist. Brett had the fun time of taking Raylee for her Allergen Screening Skin test last week. She was tested for over 30 things and good news she is not allergic to anything environmental. The dr assumes the attacks are brought on virally, so she will more than likely grow out of it...hallelujah. We still have to give her Flovent 2x a day everyday, but she has been doing a whole lot better now that she's been on that consistently.

Mr. B went in for his second preschool evaluation because of concerns with communication and fine-motor skills. The evaluators found him to be within normal range of everything except in the expressive language area. Due to this delay it qualifies him for the Gilbert Public School's Special Education preschool program. He began his new school on Monday, which he will attend Mon-Thurs from 8:45a-11:15a. He has also been assigned a speech therapist who will come to the preschool every Tuesday to work with him. He was so excited about this new change because he found out that he gets to ride the school bus...yes the cute little short bus. It comes right to our house to pick-up and drop him off. He loves his new school, Teacher Julie and Ms. Kim, but poor little thing fell asleep on the bus on the way home. I so wish I had a picture of that. Looks like school days are going to be a little exhausting for him, but luckily that makes for great nap time when he gets home.

Last, but certainly not least, Brett "officially" became my dentist. I know I have been putting it off, but I really wanted him to get in some good practice before touching my pearly whites. It is also confirmed that I hate the dentist...no not Brett...just the experience. My heart rate sky rockets and I feel like I'm going to hyperventilate the moment I lay down in that darn chair. It's not a pleasant experience. I have asked Brett to just put me under once he has his own practice because I just might never go back. Anyways, he provided a very thorough cleaning (where he had to numb my teeth because they are so sensitive) and then proceeded to give me two shots on each side of the mouth, so he could fill two cavities. Unfortunately, one of the cavities was a lot deeper than expected so instead of getting the two done in less than an hour, he was only able to fill the one. Since, Bradock would be getting home from preschool soon, I had to leave with a fully numb mouth, but only 1 cavity filled...just my luck...I have to go through all of that again. I must give credit where credit is due...Brett is a fantastic dentist. I have heard nothing but great things about him from professors, other dentists, fellow students and other patients. He truly is gifted at what he does and I am excited for him to finish these last months of school and on to a real practice. He will be leaving for New Mexico in a couple weeks for another community health rotation, so I hope those people know how lucky they are to have such a great dentist working on their teeth.

Wow, you seriously do have a few firsts to say the least! I seriously can't wait for the reunion, it's gonna be like good ol' times (plus the fact that we all have kids and hubs at home). I'm so jealous that Raylee is potty trained. I think Violet is ready but not so sure that I am, it's too crazy with a baby that still nurses every 3-4 hrs. so kuddos to you! Ya, Carol is actually Summer's mom, my sister-in-law and she is so awesome, my kids call her Grandma Carol because she treats my kids like they were her own grandkids. Summer told me she sees you but she's too embarassed to say that she's my sis-in-law. hallelughia bretts a good dentist or that would be a litte akward for you, we sound like one in the same with not liking the dental experience, i'm so glad mine is russell's brother!

I am so excited for B! And I also HATE going to the dentist. My mother in law schedules my cleanings and makes me come in because I will avoid it at all costs!!

Oh, I miss them. Why don't you guys take a trip to St. George to visit Gayle and Velma and I'll meet you there??? Mom wants to go in a few weeks and maybe she could help out!
