Die Hards to the End

About 2 weeks ago I headed down to the valley for a fun day/night. Anytime I go down to the valley I try and cram as much stuff in as I can. So, I started off my day with a hair appt with Rachel. After several hours of coloring and then re-doing my extensions I was off to see Harriett Hamilton who is a Herbal Homeopathic Medicine provider. I had been recommended to her almost 8 years ago when Brett and I were in the brunt of all our fertility treatments. I was then recommended to go to her by a neighbor we moved in next to when we lived in Marbella. Rachel had recently gone to her and I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and go and see her myself. It was a very interesting experience and I am very excited to try her method of treatment. Harriet uses kinesiology and reflexology to see what our bodies are deficient in or not in alignment with the rest of our body. She was feeling different pressure points in my feet and would ask if it hurt. She was making record of my answers and then used my hands/fingers to identify other areas of concern. Without giving her any information as to my past or current issues she told me it would be impossible for me to ever get pregnant because my hormones were so off. She said I was at a 0% when it came to Nitric Oxide production, which is an important cellular signaling molecule involved in many physiological and pathological processes. Low levels of nitric oxide production can also effect the protection of many of our organs. She said that due to a O% production my pituitary, pineal, parathyroid, adrenals were being heavily affected which in turn affects other areas of my body. I then told her that I have never been able to get pregnant in the 10 years I have been married. She was not surprised. She said that my low hormone levels would lead to osteoarthritis and kidney failure later in life. She then asked if I exercised, which I said yes. I also told her I eat very clean as well. She said that by exercising my body was releasing just enough endorphins to have any sort of energy. She said it was the only thing keeping me functioning otherwise I should be a lot more of a mess than I am and that a person with as low levels as me should be a sleeping, aching mess. I told her that I actually feel that way on days I don't workout and that's why I am so dedicated to it. She also said that my digestive problems are partly due to the hormonal imbalance and until that is fixed my body can't even process what it needs or doesn't need. After further discussion and questions she put me on a prescribed herb supplement plan. I am now taking Calcium, L-Arginine and Turmeric pills and American Gensing, Gotu Kola, Burdock and Chickweed drops daily. I am scheduled to see her again in 4 months where she said I will be feeling like a whole new person. Even though I didn't even go to see her about fertility issues (mostly just to get my hormones balanced) she said that she sees no reason why I would have any issues getting pregnant after I complete treatment...crazy!!! I may not want to get pregnant, but I am so excited at the possibility of my body getting back to normal...it's about time:) After my appt with Harriet I was off to join my fam for the Breaking Dawn 2 premiere. For the last 4 years I have been to every Twilight movie premiere and every time I have such a blast. Usually we are waiting in the crazy, long line for the midnight showing, but we lucked out this year. My sister got us tickets to a private 7pm showing for a fundraiser being held. I was happy to spend a couple extra bucks to be able to see the movie earlier. So, the crew included my mom, sister, me, Meggan, Sarah's friend Tara and a few of her family/friends and my brother who just flew in from San Antonio that afternoon. The movie was awesome, but the company was even better! I am sad the movies have now come to an end and our fun movie tradition is over...I guess we will just have to come up with some more fun traditions!!!

Fun night with one of my favorite guys!
