The long lived dream of becoming a dentist and owning his own dental practice is FINALLY a reality. It has been an absolute whirlwind of a year and especially the passed couple of months. Brett got the building and keys for the new office back in August and construction quickly began to gut and rebuild his dream space. He has spent countless hours down there making decisions, overseeing everything and doing a lot of the manual labor himself. His parents, especially his mom, have been such a huge help I making this office exactly what he envisioned. After all the blood, sweat and tears (literally) Brett opened shop last Tuesday to patients. He was able to get in full days of patients Wednesday and Thursday and then be prepared for the big Grand Opening celebration Friday and Saturday. With free exams and X-rays, food and giveaways it was 2 days of nonstop work. I have never been so proud of Brett and how hard he has worked to get to this point. The office stunned everyone and the most frequent comment was "This is absolutely beautiful. The nicest dental office in town!" The grand opening was a success and Brett ended up seeing over 70 new patients in conjunction with some already existing patients. People loved the food (doughnuts in the morning and BBQ for lunch and afternoon) and the giveaways were a hit. I enjoyed giving people tours of the office and allowing the patients to get to know Dr. Flaherty's family on a very personal level. It all turned out so nice and we are so thankful to our family and friends who came to help and support. Words can't express our gratitude to them and all that they have done for us. We are now excited to see Brett's practice grow and flourish in this new, beautiful building. Our future in Payson is definitely very permanent now:)

The Forts came up to give their support and Rachel and I were able to get this pic together. Meegan and Jake, Cameron, his mom and kids and some of my extended family also came up to show their love and support.
