Awhile back Chance had asked me if I would be up for getting a makeover. He totally started back pedaling saying "Not that you need one or anything!" Hahahaha...it was hilarious but what he was really asking was if if I wanted to join Sarah on a trip to Vegas to get a makeup makeover by a girl that lives there. I instantly asked if he was talking about Maskcara. Cara Brooks aka Maskcara is a makeup artist/blogger that is known for being the hac'ing (highlighting and contouring) queen and doing amazing "naturally looking" makeovers. I have been following her blog for about a year and a half and just love her tutorials and tips. I couldn't believe my ears when Chance said "yes, it's with her!" WHAT??!!! I was so excited and said heck ya I would go. Chance wanted to get Sarah something really nice after he had been gone so much hunting and knew she would be excited to go see her too. Seriously it was the ultimate girls trip ever. So after Chance worked out the details and scheduling we were all set for the weekend of Nov 15-17th. On Friday afternoon Sarah, her friend from work, Hanan and I piled in Sarah's van and headed to Vegas.
I took this pic right before we left. I am 32 weeks here and still feeling really good.
We arrived in Vegas, checked into our hotel at LVH (Las Vegas Hotel) and headed out to meet Sarah's other friend, Jen, for dinner. We decided to eat at Maggiano's, an Italian restaurant located on the strip. We had a fun night and headed back to the hotel to get some sleep before our fun makeovers the next day.
The next morning we grabbed some breakfast at Einstein's bagel and then drove to Cara's house where she has her studio. I was a little shocked when she opened the door wearing pjs, no makeup and her hair in a ponytail. I guess some people are comfortable being totally comfortable in front of others but that's just not how I roll. In fact, it was so weird for me to not out makeup on that morning. I just felt so undone. Oh well, to each his own. Here are a few pics with Cara. She is so itty bitty especially next to Sarah and I, the two giants:)
Sarah got her makeup done first and holy moly she looked amazing! Seriously what a beautiful, natural transformation. I don't see Sarah wear makeup often so it was fun to see her done up again. The great part about Cara is she doesn't use a ton of makeup. That's what keeps it so fresh looking. I wasn't lying when I said Cara is the hac'ing queen. I mean look what she did to narrow my sisters nose and make her face look thinner.

Hanan got her makeup done next and she looked amazing too. Lastly, it was my turn. Cara had been wanting to try a monochromatic look on herself but just hadn't gotten around to it, so she decided to try it on me. So she went for the same subtle pink on my eyes, cheeks and lips. It was definitely a pretty look but I like to do a little more drastic look with either popping eyes or poppin lips. If I go for too subtle of a look I end up looking washed out by the end of the day. I still loved some of her recommended products and tips and have had fun playing around with a few of them. It really was such a fun experience.
We spent the rest of the day shopping, eating and having fun together. It was so fun to take this trip with Sarah and get to spend time with her. We don't do that often and have never taken a trip together so it was perfect. I look forward to doing things like that more often:)
While we were gone Brett and Chance had all the kids at our house. Bradock and Raylee love playing with McKai. I think Brett realized how much work a little toddler is. Vada is so cute and will go to anyone but she is like a human tornado. I think reality finally hit Brett that we will be starting all over and dealing with those fun baby/toddler stages again.
Here's the kids roasting and eating hot dogs with dad.
I didn't get home from my trip until late Sunday night so the kids were already asleep. I snuck into their room to give them a kiss and found them snuggled up on Raylee's bed. I sure do love these two little kiddos:)
