We have really enjoyed our last couple weeks just being at home and trying to stay cool. Here are some of the fun and not so fun things that we have been up to.
1. We got to go out to dinner and see the fabulous musical "Wicked" with the Flaherty Family. My mother in law got us all tickets for Christmas and so we were so excited to finally get to use our fun Christmas gift. I didn't get any pics, but it sure was a great night. That musical is one of my favs and I hope to someday watch it and not cry...don't worry there's lots of laughing in it too.
2. The other day I am talking to my sister, who is telling me all about their AC going out in their house and how much it cost to replace the entire system. I felt so bad for them and just kept thinking to myself how blessed I am to not have to deal with something like that. Well, and I'm not joking, but not even an hour later I tell Brett that our house is feeling really warm. We look at the thermostat and sure enough it is slowly creeping up way past what we have it set at. We tried everything that we knew to do, which wasn't much, and ended up spending the night at our neighbor's house because our house had gotten up to 91 degrees. Luckily, an old high school buddy of ours came over the next day, figured out what was wrong and at a much cheaper price than I was expecting got our AC up and running. You never want to have your AC go out in the middle of the summer, but I am so thankful that we didn't end up having to spend a huge amount of money on a whole new system.
3. Bradock and I got to see the last of the Harkins' Summer Movie specials with the Gonzalez's, Hall's and Fort's. What a fun thing to do in the summer. We can't wait for next year.
4. We enjoyed a fun night at the park, barbequeing and playing water kickball with some friends of ours. It was a blast and a great and cheap way to beat the heat.
Here's Bradock and Raylee having fun on the park toys.
5. We got to party like it was 1999 at Brett's 10 Year High School Reunion. Can I say, flashback?!! It was held at Rock'n R Ranch and everybody pretty much looked exactly the same as they did 10 years ago. It was fun to see people we hadn't since high school, but it was also fun to know that we have stayed really good friends with a lot of them.
Brett had fun being Mr. Social and I loved having some friends there that didn't graduate that year either, but were there with their hubbies. Mele and I were so bummed we didn't win any of the raffle prizes, but had fun laughing all night.
Here's Brett with some of his ol' buddies, Lupe and Shane.

Fun! Okay seriously we've been loving summer but I have to admit that as much fun as I love swimming with Ellah Lu I cannot wait for it to cool down, just a little! We need to hang out now that I think your vacations have slowed down and we don't have any in the works. We miss you guys!
good times at rockin r. now you know what to look forward to next year for your 10 yr!
Oh! I miss Shane! It was fun to see a pic of him. Noah's reunion last year was lame I thought. I'm sad I won't be around for mine next year.
We went to Wicked also (and got the tickets from my Mom for Chrismas also) and yes..it was amazing. I could see it a million times and never get sick of it. Do you remember when we saw you guys at the Beauty and the Beast play? We always laugh about how we had the very worst seats in the house...and then we saw you guys a row ahead of us. I guess Brett was cheap too!
u looked hot for the reunion. i loved the make-up, hehe. Have fun excaping the heat and hanggin with ur mom this week. ttyl trix
So I read your post about the a/c breaking and thought.. it always happens in the summer.. well guess what?? Ours broke yesterday night. It's now 84 in here and it's really uncomfortable. I have someone coming in a few hours but it stinks!
dang girl you looked hott at the reunion, especially your eyes!!! ;)
thanks for saving me that night! Good laughs, good food...wait, no...expensive food, and us as usual about as tall or taller than our hubbies. :D
