"We Are The Champions..."

A couple of weeks ago, our ward decided to hold an "Elder's Quorom Pinewood Derby." Since Brett is part of the Elder's Quorom Presidency he knew he needed to step up his game and put some time into making a really good car. Jake Crockett and him spent some nice hard working hours over at Bob's wood shop, studying the "How to Make the Best Pinewood Derby" manual and well I guess it paid off. Out of 24 cars Brett's car (which he named "The Dark Night") actually one every heat that it was in and ended up being the 1st Place Champion...whoohoo!!

Here is a pic of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Brett kind of felt bad that he ended up beating out a couple of young boys, but I know the sympathy didn't last long because he sure has flaunted that metal and trophy around (mostly in Jake Crockett's face).

"The Dark Night" is the black car in the second row to the far left. Just to the right of it was the "Lightening McQueen" car that Brett made for Bradock and that Terri finished up with her painting skills. He absolutely loves that car. I think it is permanently stuck in his hands because he eats, sleeps, and plays with it all day and night.
