This fall/winter I thought we had totally lucked out and were going to dodge the whole snow thing...WRONG! What started as a little snow dusting turned into a pretty nice snow storm. Of course, Brett and the kids were in heaven. They had so much fun playing and sledding in the snow. I'm not sure it is going to stick around for Christmas, but they are loving it while we have it.
I am particularly thankful for my little munchkins today and having fun watching them play as news broke of a school shooting in Massachusetts. Here is a summary of the shooting I found online: On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza, age 20, fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members and wounded two at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the village of Sandy Hook in the town of Newtown, Connecticut. Before driving to the school, Lanza had shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their Newtown home. After killing students and staff members, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head as first responders arrived. Every time I think about this or see or hear about it on the news or radio I am just full of such sadness and tears. Those poor children and their families. I put myself in their shoes and it is unbearable. Knowing Bradock is in kindergarten and thinking about this tragedy has me so grateful for my children...even on the most frustrating days. Being a mother is the hardest job I have ever had, but I know it is a job I am blessed to have. I hope to never have to experience tragedy like this on such a personal level and my thoughts and prayers are with those that unfortunately have to.Wednesday, January 9, 2013
