Payson's Annual Longest, Continuous rodeo finally arrived. We enjoyed the morning at the parade and we were excited for the rodeo that evening. I don't think anyone was as excited as Mr. B though. He was all ready for his mutton bustin debut that night. When we got to the rodeo it was pouring rain. I was so bummed but I wasn't going to miss watching Bradock ride a sheep. We sat in the stand in the pouring rain and finally the rain subsided. Brett took Mr. B to sign in and get him all ready. After several events mutton bustin was finally next. As I was watching all the little kids ride and it was such a blast. I was getting really anxious for Mr. B though. Finally it was his turn and man that sheep came flyin out of the booth. Bradock later named him "Rocket" because he was so fast:) Not only did Bradock hold on but he held on longer than any other kid. I was jumping up and down in the stands screaming. I guess I scared poor Miss Ray because she started crying. It was such a proud mama moment. The announcer then said he earned a score of 80...the highest score of the night! My little cowboy walked back on to the grounds with a 1st place trophy in hand and the biggest smile you ever did see. He held his trophy up high and walked with such proudness. My shy little boy was a star at the rodeo that night as everyone congratulated him as he walked by. Not only did he win a trophy but he got a gift certificate for a pair of free Justin boots, a belt buckle and bandana. It was most definitely the best rodeo I have ever been to. So proud of my little mutton buster. He stays he is ready for bulls now...hopefully that desire goes away!
