6 Weeks Old

On Monday Riggy had his 1 month checkup even though he's really 6 weeks on Tursday. Dr. Michels is pleased with how he's growing. He now weighs 11.2lbs (7.14 at birth), 23.5inches long (20.75 at birth) and his head is measuring 15in (13.5 at birth). Rig is in the 95th percentile for length and 75th percentile for weight. Dr says he's on track to be tall and skinny...no surprise there:) He also said Rig is very strong for his age. It was nice to get the reassurance that my breast milk is doing his body good. Rig's ultrasound results showed no issues with his little extra butt dimple. Everything looked normal...yay!!! Rig is starting to lose his hair on top. He looks like a little, old man but still so cute. He is smiling more and more and starting to coo back when you talk to him. 

The next day Riggy and I ran to the valley so I could go to my 6 week checkup. It was kind of a waste of an appt since they don't check anything. Belinda my midwife just asks how everything is going. Wish we could have just done that over the phone. Oh well, I was able to run a bunch of errands afterwards. Here's Rig and I in a dressing room at the mall. I'm starting to realize how hard it is to breastfeed outside my house. I often use my car or anything convenient enough to feed in privacy. I'm just not one that will do it in front of people. Plus it's kind of hard to do with a cover over us. He's still little enough that I have to help him latch on. Thank goodness for dressing rooms:)
