My goal is to start writing down more of the funny/cute or just memorable conversations that I have with my kids. A couple nights ago was definitely one of those "cute" moments. Every night I read a story from the kids' scriptures before they go to bed. We have read the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenant stories once all the way through and are now back to New Testament stories. I opened the book and before I even got settled in to read, Bradock excitedly yelled, "Peace...Be Still!" I looked at him and said "What?" He then pointed to the picture of Christ on the page that I had opened and proceeded to tell me the story. It was so cute and one of those "proud mom" moments. I swear just when you think that all your hard work is for naught the kids will assure you that they really are listening to what you teach them. This also includes the amazing primary teachers that just re-affirm the lessons we are trying to teach at home:)
Yesterday, Bradock asked me if I would teach him to play cards with him when he gets older. Raylee then says to him, "But Bradock you are old...you are 5 now!" He responded to her, "No I mean really old like mom and dad." Awwwww...bless their hearts for making you feel really old:) I guess Bradock has been on a role with cracking me up lately, but the other afternoon Bradock asked for a snack and said he wanted a bag of veggies. Raylee then decided that she too wanted a snack, but was going for some goldfish or something like that. Bradock then told her that she really needed to eat her veggies because they are super healthy and that's what Jesus would want her to do. Where does he come up with this stuff?!!! HILARIOUS! Hey, I'm not going to argue with that one:) Since this seems to be somewhat of a "churchy" post I thought I might add that both Brett and I have been given new callings. Brett is now that 2nd Counselor in the Young Men's organization and therefore the new Scout Master. For some reason I received a lot of congrats and condolences on his behalf...looks like he will be very busy with lots of campouts, activities, badges, merits and well anything scout related. I am still busily trying to get ready for Girl's Camp in October as Asst. Stake Camp Director and have also been called to be the Primary teacher for the 9 year olds. I actually was kind of excited about this calling. The kids are a great age...fun, can communicate, participate, read, write and are so sweet and attentive. I taught my first lesson on Sunday and the kids were awesome...I think this calling is a keeper:)Wednesday, August 22, 2012
