School time, Friends time and a little Dental time

So far this school year has gone pretty well. The kids love going and especially love showing off all their fun "projects". Homework has been a little bit of a struggle with Mr. B though. The first assignment he got was two sheets of writing upper and lower case A's. Bradock still struggles with his writing due to weakness with fine motor skills and muscle strength. It literally took him all afternoon to finish...with multiple breaks and a constant "This hurts my hands, Mom. Homework is exhausting and makes me hungry!" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because I felt the exact same way. I would not do well as a teacher...I just flat out lack the patience. I told Bradock, "Believe me this is only the beginning!" But I'm really trying to help him understand the concept of practice. He has noticed that he is doing much better in gymnastics and knows it is from going every week and practicing at home. He is beginning to see that in his homework too...practice makes perfect (or close to it). Our new motto for school is "Do your best...forget the rest!"

Last Monday night a bunch of us got together for a BBQ and iceblocking at Green Valley Park. I hadn't been iceblocking since I was a teenager and the kids and... well let's be honest, the adults had a blast. We have decided to rotate who is in charge of FHE every first Monday of the month. I am excited to start this fun new tradition and look forward to hanging out with all our friends more often.
Oh this picture is a dandy. I have been asking Brett for sometime now when I can come in and get my teeth whitened, so the other day I get a text from, Michelle, one of the girls at the office, and she told me to head on down and they would hook me up. Tawni, actually did all the bleaching for me and her and the other girls thought I looked hilarious and decided to take a pic of me during mid-whitening. It's hard to see in the pic, but my teeth actually looked like a Christmas tree all red and green...the pic just makes them look all gunky and bloody, but I promise no blood was involved. Anyways, they dared me to post it on Facebook and well I'm never one to shy away from a challenge, so here I am in all my bleaching glory...pretty huh?!!! Well, the goal was to go "Ross" white and Tawni did a pretty dang good job of getting me there. There are some definite perks to having your hubby as a dentist...never in a million years would I have put love and dentist in the same sentence, but that kind of changes when you are married to one:)
